"They were amazing as soon as you put them on, they make you stand properly. And so my walking changed in that my pelvic floor muscles felt like they were engaging whichmakes you feel stronger and relieves back ache."

What does MBT do?

The body's muscle system performs one of the most complex tasks on a day to day, minute to minute and second to second basis - keeping us upright and balanced whilst walking, running or even just standing still.

The way that conventional footware works is to support and lead the foot. This stabilises the body but does so in an unnatural way. The result is that the muscle system responsibile for supporting and balancing us gets sidelined and, as is the case for any inactive muscle, this leads to atrophy, resulting in many common health conditions of modern society such as joint and back pain.

The simple and obvious solution is to stimulate the body and the muscle system to start balancing itself again. And this is exactly what physiological footware such as MBT is designed to do, by re-introducing a natural instability to the body. By doing this we force our body to compensate and make full use of the body's supporting muscle system again.

MBT® uses a special sole construction, creating a natural, soft surface. This creates a natural instability beneath our feet which forces the usually neglected muscle groups to make continual balancing adjustments, providing constant exercise for these muscles and ensuring that we receive a constant, healthy workout.

As a result, these active muscles go on to relieve stresses on the joints and back whilst walking, jogging or standing, a benefit which is simply not provided by conventional footware. Every step taken wearing MBT® physiological footware contributes to your daily exercise, resulting in greater fitness, health and wellbeing.
